MCP Toolbox for Databases, formerly genai-toolbox, serves two roles: a ready-made MCP server with prebuilt tools that connects clients such as Gemini CLI, Claude Code and Codex to databases including Postgres, BigQuery, AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, Spanner and many others; and a framework for defining secure custom tools with structured queries, semantic search and NL2SQL for production agents.
