## About Zotero MCP
Zotero MCP connects a Zotero library to AI assistants over the Model Context Protocol. It searches by title, author, tag, collection, full text or meaning, using local or hosted embeddings; reads metadata, BibTeX and PDF page ranges; places highlights and notes; and adds items by DOI, URL, ISBN or BibTeX. It reads locally from zotero.sqlite or works through the Zotero web API, and offers a CLI with an agent skill for coding agents.
