Letta's current Desktop is the signed-in Cloud web app installed as a PWA. The previous native Letta Code Desktop stopped running after its October 12 deprecation.
- Availability
- Available. Current web/PWA and CLI interfaces available. The April native desktop launch is historical and is not a current download recommendation.
- How to use it
- Web app; Desktop app; Library / CLI; API. Web/PWA in supported browsers; local agents use the CLI, SDK or a custom UI. PWA installation differs by browser and OS.
- Processing and data
- Self-hosted option; Vendor cloud; Local and cloud options. The PWA requires a Cloud account; the CLI's default local backend stores state locally without login. Inference depends on connected providers or local servers; optional login backs agents up to Cloud.
- Costs and limits
- Code plus model/hosting costs; Cloud account and plan limits
- Outputs
- Stateful agent sessions, editable memory and proposed coding/tool actions; persistence is not proof that remembered facts are correct.
Use the CLI, SDK or a custom App Server UI for local agents. A local agent backend does not establish local model inference. Provider accounts, plans and usage terms remain separate.
