OpenWiki is an available CLI for maintaining Markdown context for coding agents and personal knowledge. Its Claims link facts to versioned evidence; code-mode updates can revisit claims when sources change. A local visualizer and read-only MCP retrieval help browse an existing wiki.
- Availability
- Available. Published CLI and documented setup, not a waitlist. No GA or first-release date is inferred from the October 28 evidence-graph article.
- How to use it
- Library / CLI. CLI or supported coding-agent integration. Windows installation has native-dependency caveats. Wiki files are local; provider and integration support depends on configuration.
- Processing and data
- Local and cloud options. Markdown and claim metadata live in the selected local repository/state directory. Generation may send source material to a model provider; optional connectors and LangSmith tracing introduce other data paths. Local files do not imply offline inference.
- Costs and limits
- MIT CLI; configured model, connector and optional tracing costs
- Outputs
- Editable Markdown pages, linked concepts and source-linked claim metadata. Detecting a changed source is different from proving or correcting the claim; retain source review and update costs.
Requires Node.js 22.22 or later and configured model access for standalone generation. MIT covers the code, not inference or connected services. Generated citations can be wrong. The publisher's evidence-graph experiment uses a synthetic corpus, and its simple-lookup control did not improve; it does not establish general performance. No generation or retrieval run was tested.
