About KiCAD MCP Server

KiCAD MCP Server lets LLMs such as Claude interact directly with KiCAD for PCB design, from GitHub Copilot in VS Code or Claude Desktop. This Python and TypeScript server remains MIT-licensed and maintained; the authors' newer Konnect, a native KiCAD 10 plugin rewritten in Rust with 171 tools, is AGPL-3.0 with commercial licences for businesses.
